LIVERPOOL TOPS PREMIER LEAGUE TABLE
Liverpool went on an all-out aggressive game against Watford, thrashing them 6-1 at the Anfield Stadium to ensure that they moved to the top of the Premier League Table, just a single point above second placed Chelsea.
Liverpool has a total of 26 points while Chelsea remains at 2nd place with 25 points.
The Reds had gone all the way up to the top of the League table for the first time since the beginning of this term, just a few hours after Arsenal’s dream of coming once more to the top was crushed in a 1-1 draw with Tottenham in their Sunday North London Derby at the Emirates stadium.
The Merseysiders were at their ruthless best in the match as they stamped down their authority at the Anfield stadium against Watford, putting a total of six goals past the visitors. JurgenKlopp, Liverpool’s boss man would surely have been delighted in the display by his players, despite Watford getting away with one goal.
The scoring spree was opened by Sadio Mane in the 27th minute into the game. Also, Philippe Coutinho and Emre Can did not hesitate to get into the action as they were able to put one each past the Watford net before the end of the first half.
The restart of the second half into the game saw Liverpool’s Roberto add another goal to the list, making it four whilst Mane got in a second at the mark of the hour. Substitute, GeorginioWijanldum wasn’t left out in the action as he was able to score one during injury time to bring the number of goals for the Merseysiders to a total of 6.
The only goal for Watford was scored by Daryl Janmaat but was not enough to strike out a few of the goals scored by Liverpool.
