Premier League still in the limbo about restarting after Covidpandemic
With the football leagues suspended for nearly two months, the committee is putting forward discussions on the resumption of the games. Premier League will mostly be resumed by June 8 and the football committee hopes to finish the season by the end of July. The English league was suspended in the middle of March and the clubs have called up a meeting on this Friday to discuss further complications regarding the resuming of the game.
Oliver Dowden, UK secretary of digital, culture, media and sport has stated that he has had discussions with the clubs regarding the recommencement of the games. During his parliamentary questions session, he said that he has personally discussed with the clubs and is well aware of the football community and its needs. The resumption of the games will be under good health guidance.
The timeline of the matches are being announced and the players are going to be back to the training grounds by May 18. The training sessions in some of the clubs have started earlier and in some, the discussions are going on.
Everton, Arsenal and West Ham have opened up the training grounds for the players on Monday with strict guidelines on social distancing. Tottenham Hotspur has decided to start the training sessions on Tuesday. The season will be officially played without any audience and the primary concern of most of the league committees all over Europe will be to finish the season without any consequences.
English Football League will be restarted with strict health guidance against the spread of coronavirus. Christian Seifert, CEO of Bundesliga, has informed that matches will begin on May 9 after the permission from the government but the police force of Germany has commented that even though the matches will be void of the audience, people will certainly gather outside the stadium.
The Polish government is discussing to bring back Ekstraklasa by May 29 through a five-step process and Italy is planning to allow the players to train individually by May 4. La Liga will not be returning soon and we have to wait till the end of summer as issued by the Health Minister of Spain.
