BECKS RETIRES
Superstar footballer David Beckham recently announced his retirement from the sport after glorious years with the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, and AC Milan. He has achieved a lot in football.
He is the first footballer from England to have won league titles in four different countries – England, Spain, Italy, and United States. He has also won the Champions league title during his career. Despite his enormous achievements on the pitch, people often remember him for his celebrity status. His former teammate at Manchester United, Phil Neville, has said that there is more to become than just being a superstar.
At 36 years of age, Neville recently announced his retirement and entered into football coaching. He has been included into the coaching staff of David Moyes at Manchester United, thus coming back to the club where he started his career. David Beckham and Phil Neville were part of the glorious Manchester United youth team that went on to win major accolades despite being a group of youngsters. Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and Gary Neville were some of the players of that youth team. Neville has now said that Beckham is an incredibly good footballer and people often don't give him credit for it.
“David Beckham’s CV reads Manchester United, LA Galaxy, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris Saint Germain. If you'd stuck an acca on William Hill that he'd play for those clubs, you'd have got odds in the thousands. They are the biggest clubs in world football. But it is on the football field where he should probably be best remembered. He has not just gone to these clubs and been a bit-part player. He has gone to these clubs and made an impact. He is a wonderful football player and he will be sadly missed,” said Neville. Beckham is expected to get back into football, but not as a manager. He is reportedly in talks with MLS to buy a franchise.
