ABUSE IS PART OF THE GAME

Current England national team and Manchester City number one goalkeeper Joe Hart believes that the abuse that opposition players receive from the fans is a part and parcel of the game and it is what makes the game all the more fun.

Hart stated that he receives stick no matter where he goes to play with City and that is what adds flavour to the current game.

Hart and his City team, who are currently on top of the English Premier League, three points ahead of arch rivals and current champions Manchester United, enter into a difficult period of their schedule with many players missing due to the African Cup of nations. But Hart believes they have to live with that and with the bench like theirs, feels that it won’t be much of a problem.

Hart’s comments about the abusive fans come in the light of a few Liverpool supporters racially abusing an Oldham Athletic player in their FA Cup encounter. The Manchester City shot stopper believes that strong measures need to be taken to take racism out of football.

The Patrice Evra and Luis Suarez racism row that engulfed English football for many months seem to be haunting football all over the country and Hart has appealed to the fans to keep the abuse about the football and not make it personal. The row is set to boil over into the Cup, with Suarez and Evra set to meet again in the fourth round, with the winner going on to surely be one of the with best FA Cup bets left in.

The 24 year old knows that it won’t be easy because of the upbringing of certain fans that don’t care about the sentiments of players other than, or even including, their own.

When asked if Manchester City would take any initiative regarding their fans about abuse, Hart commented that he believes the City fans know better than to abuse players based on the color of their skin and he is sure that they wouldn’t racially abuse anyone from any team.
